1. Learn from the experience - Avoiding the breakup is not possible at all times, but learning from it is. Knowing why the breakup happened gives one better understanding about oneself as well as about relationships as a whole.

2. Accept the reality Once the breakup has taken place, it cannot be undone. Although the possibility of getting back with one's partner is there, this does not mean that one should just continue to live for that goal. Acceptance is the most important part of the process of healing.

6. Avoid the other person Some people might think that avoiding the other person is immature. However, ample evidence shows the effectiveness of this tactic. It is hard, if not impossible, to move on if the source of the pain and heartbreak is still around and present in your life. To move on, one must forget, and forgetting something is easier when it is not seen nor heard about.

7. Enjoy life Spend some time doing other things. There are better and more stuff beyond one's relationship and heartbreak. Losing someone does not mean losing one's life. There are a lot of other people around you who needs you and can make you happy even more than your ex can. Reconnect with forgotten friends or hang out with family members. Engaging in other activities and sports as well as discovering other interests in life is a good way to make you realize how beautiful life is even when a former important person in your life is not there anymore.
