How To Lose Weight Easily And Effectively

Being overweight is rather damaging to your soul and self esteem

. You will always be the brunt of the jokes of your friends and peers. Youll be laughed at and the joke will always be on you. People will most of the time laugh at you and not laugh with you. Even when you are trying to go on a diet and lose weight, people would still ridicule and make even more fun of you.

Ive struggled with overweight problems for the most part of my life. I started to gain weight when I was 13 years old and steadily but surely, Ive piled on the pounds and kilos. The siruation was aggravated by my love of food and my dislike of exercising. In school, I did not join any physical activities.

Of course, by the time I was in pre-U (around 18 years old), I realised that I need to do something about my weight problem.

So I went on a diet and started to exercise. And thanks to my then high metabolism rate (I was 18 so I was at the peak of my health), I started to lose weight.

What I did then was pretty simple and straight-forward.. I started to exercise and I joined several outdoor activities in school). I even resorted to cycle to school instead of taking a bus. Sometimes I even walk to school. I also did weight training. As I dont have access to any gym then, I used to lift heavy objects at home. You know objects like chairs, tables and even my youngest brother substituted the dumb-bells.

I became my moms favourite son for a while as I suddenly volunteered to do most of the household chores , like mowing the lawn and washing the car. Anything to keep me active.

Eating wise, I became smarter. I avoided fast food. I still eat a lot (I cant go without home cook meals, though) but somehow due to my new rather active lifestyle, the kgs are easier to lose and manage. I took less oily and fatty food.

Within a few months, I can feel the differences and I became happier with myself and in turn became more confident. I began to join various clubs and activities and people started to take me seriously. I even excel in my studies.

Today, I work hard at maintaining my desired body weight. Its a struggle especially now Im already working. Today, I find it difficult to find time to exercise. Busy schedule and demanding job tend to keep me away from exercising. But if you want something, you have to work at it, right?

I find that as you got older, you need to readjust your diet plan and exercise regime to suit your current lifestyle and body needs. What work during your teenage years or younger days will not work for the older you. You might want to enrol in a proper weight loss program or engage a personal trainer or at least join a gym.

Just look at your goals and needs and plan accordingly.

But above all, you have to get serious and commit to losing weight for good!
