Nowadays, we rarely use libraries. Even though most of our teachers keep telling us to go to this place, we prefer to use laptops, PC's, and other technological tools to search the web and have millions of resources rather than use a library who will give us one specific answer. There were 1.5 Billion different internet users in 2008 and still increasing steadily every year. And that means we will always have new website to go to and new information to have. We will also have new virus and different strategies to take money off our credit card. Technology have its advantages and disadvantages and it is up to us on how we can benefit from those resources.
When you think about wedding planning, it will take you several months to come up with the idea that will suit your budget. And we are browsing different search engines like google and type in the text box "how to have perfect wedding", "how to have a unique wedding", etc. The point is, you are not the only one doing that. There were thousands of couples browsing the web everyday for affordable perfect wedding. However, there are only few who came up close to their dream wedding. Yes I agree, there are millions of resources to choose from but by having this much information can make your wedding more expensive than it should.
When I was planning my own wedding few years ago, I purchased over 20 books and magazines just to have a perfect wedding! I listed all wedding ideas and steps on wedding planning and came up with a list that was way too far from my budget. It is good to consider different strategies to pursue your dream wedding and it is fine to use available resources that we can have. However, when you finished browsing you will have plenty of things to do in your mind and eventually overspend rather than focus your attention to your limitations. I know what I did is wrong, I became fond of wedding planning and I ended up disappointed when I noticed that it was going on different path. The good thing is, there is a solution to every problem. I asked my friend who just got married and hired a wedding planner on what went wrong with my wedding planning. She made me realize that when you are planning a wedding you do not have to know how any other weddings work. You will just have your "want this" and "want that" if you explore any other weddings. You may have a good tip on your research but it will just make your wants soar high!
The best way and the great resources that will help you plan your wedding is 'experience'. Experience is a lot more different from theories and strategies. It is more effective than reading a thousand articles on wedding planning. Ask every couple you know on how they planned their wedding and you will come up with a better idea to choose from. Remember, you are not the only one who plan a wedding. Learning from their experiences will make your puzzle easier. Hiring a planner with incredible experience is a key to your dream wedding. I always love this quote: "It is not about how many times we fall, it is about how we get up and learn from those experiences that makes us a better person."
