Boils is a type of skin disease involving the hair follicle and skin tissue surrounding the infected area on the skin .
This infection is caused by Staphylococcus bacteria which are generally found on the skin surface. The infection when affects the several hair follicles and nearby tissues then it is termed as a boil.
The boils or follicle is surrounded by either red bumps or small pockets of Pus. It can affect any part of the body such as underarms, lips, nose, shoulders, thighs and buttocks.
Boils can affect anyone regardless of age and sex of a person. In some cases pregnant women are also seen suffering from boils. This can be perilous for both mother and the unborn child. Pregnant women suffers from this infection on upper thigh, areas next to spine and groin areas .Due to excess sweating or using infected toilets or increase in toxic substance in blood the pregnant women easily become victim of this infection. Imbalance in hormones can also be one of reasons for occurring of boils in pregnant women. Research shows that approx. 5% of the boils infected mother transfer this infection to their baby.
In boils during pregnancy there is no harm to the life of baby only one fear is that the baby can be infected with bacterial disease or any deformity before birth.
The pregnant mother should consult the doctor and get a thorough medical checkup. The inspection of boil pus must be done to clarify any other infection.
The complete dosage of antibiotics should be taken by the mother as prescribed by the doctor with lots of fresh and healthy food diet.
The pregnant women suffering from boils and is being diagnosed under MRSA(Methicillin Resistance to Staphylococcus Aureus)must undergo proper treatment.
There should be proper care of patient and daily used items should be kept clean and isolated. The dressing of pus and wounds should be done to prevent any hazard.
The proper medical treatment and good nursing can cure the case and there will be no risk further and both mother and child will be safe from infection.
