Knowing as many brides as I have (and being one myself), I'm thinking there's a pretty good chance you're working out on a regular basis (or at least thinking about the prospect of it often, which is what I did). There's nothing to say, though, that getting in shape has to mean endless hours at the gym; in fact, there are all sorts of fun options that will get you toned while relieving stress and showing you a fun time.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

Try out the trapeze. Flying across the New York skyline on a trapeze while working your core? I'm not sure if I can think of a more simultaneously terrifying and exhilarating activity Most cities also have indoor trapeze classes (which I have to think would be a tad less dramatic) and cater to first-timers with reassuring, in-depth safety training.

Hit the trail. Yes, the gym is a great work out, but there is nothing quite as challenging as the hills and elements Mother Nature can throw at you. Take a hike, go for a bike ride, rollerblade, just take it outside. Plus, you'll get access to your all-important Vitamin D, which is guaranteed to make wedding stress melt away.

Join a sports team. Remember when exercise was less about burning calories and more about running around, having fun? Joining an adult league team in your favorite sport, or one you'd like to try out, is a great way to get in shape (let's just say that after my first soccer game I was sore in places I didn't even know I had muscles). And don't worry if you're a newbie to the sport! Most leagues have multiple levels so there's a starting place for every player.

Take up dance. Dancing burns some serious calories, yet you hardly realize it because you're so busy thinking about the moves. Plus, it gets your entire body in on the game down to your finger tips (yes, it is possible to have sore finger tips as I discovered after a particularly difficult African dance class). If you're not sure you're ready for a full-on class, Barre3 is a combination barre/yoga/Pilates class that you can do from the comfort of your living room.

Lace up your skates. One of my husband's favorite activities is hockey so several times a year I find myself in the middle of a rink, haplessly attempting to hit a hockey puck. And it's a great work out. Speed skating, figure skating, hockey classes, even just skating around in circles, burn calories and challenge your body in ways that it's probably not used to

Hit the playground. Um, have you tried to swing across the monkey bars lately? It is seriously hard. Add a trip through the playground to your walking/running schedule and try out some of the moves you performed with such ease when you were a kid (Baby Drop, anyone?). Or try out Vital Juice's Playground work out, which uses playground equipment for circuit training.

Work out with friends. You know how time flies when you grab a coffee or drink with a friend and dish on your latest cheap invitations for wedding? Same thing happens when you hit the gym, trails or classes. Plus, it's a great way to hold yourself accountable, especially for those early morning work outs
