Four Important Website Design Elements

Share: Do you know how to design a professional looking website
? Here are four important website design elements that you should take into consideration when setting up your website.
Element 1: Ease of navigation.
This is the most important element among the four elements. Your website should be easy to navigate. There are three things you can do to ensure that the navigation is user friendly.
The first thing you can do is to make sure that navigation bar is well organized and prominently displayed. If you have ads on your website, make sure that the navigation links look different from your ads. Otherwise, your visitors won't know which links to click.
The second thing you can do is to include a site map. Including a site map is easy. Create a new HTML page, and include all the links in the single page. Keep the links to about 100 or less. If there are more than 100 links, create a new page.
The third thing you can do is to embed links in your content. As your reader is reading the content, they can click through an embedded link to read more relevant information.
Element 2: Professional image.
Creating a website that portrays a professional image sounds easy, but not many Companies know how to do this properly.
To create a professional image, you want to make sure that the tone of the website matches your business profile. For instance, if you are a large conglomerate, you want a corporate feel to your site. Use a simple template with cool colors such as white, grey, and blue. If your website is for youngsters, you may want to use brighter colors such as red, lime, yellow or orange.
On top of that, you need to ensure that you only post quality content on your site. If you post content that is full of mistakes, the assumption is that you are not serious in serving your customers.
Element 3: Proper use of graphics.
As the saying goes, "A picture says a thousand words." Sometimes, having a solo graphic on the home page can be very effective. The visitor does not have to read an essay to find out what your Company is about.
Another way to use graphics is to use small icons or animated GIFs near important messages. These images are used to draw eyeballs. For example, a blinking arrow can help draw attention to the BUY NOW link.
You can also use big bold buttons to encourage visitors to click on a link.
Element 4: Proper coding.
HTML is easy to learn and use. Your website doesn't have to be fanciful to be effective. Just keep things simple and clear. Avoid messy coding in your web pages. Search engines do prefer websites with clean and proper coding. So your site has a higher chance of ranking higher in the search results if you keep your code clean.
If you don't want to mess around with code, use a website editor. Using the editors, you can save and export web pages easily without having to worry about improper code.
