My obsession with skin care continues to this day as I gracefully glide into my mid-fifties. I have learned through research, trial and error a few standard principles which I follow. The results have been successful, as I am told I appear to look at least ten years younger than my chronological age.
There are simple and basic principles to follow if you want to look younger than your age. It amazes me when I see someone who smokes going to buy the latest beauty cream. That's like earning a hundred thousand dollars then turning around and gambling it away in a casino. Stop smoking if you do. That alone will peel ten years right off of your face.
In addition, avoid the sun, excessive caffeine, alcohol and processed foods. Exercise is a miracle for facial wrinkle treatment. It increases your blood flow, improving your skin.
As you age, your skin exfoliates less frequently. This is why one of the first things you should do if you are serious about facial wrinkle treatment is to regularly exfoliate.
There are skin care products which do this quite well. I personally use retinol. I get the strongest formula possible without a prescription and mix it with some other skin creams to dilute it. My skin is regularly exfoliated chemically with this mixture. This works very well for me.
Another way to peel your skin chemically is using salicylic acid. I have tried this but for me I prefer retinol. You need to find the best products for yourself and your body chemistry.
A physical way to exfoliate is to use finely ground corn meal. I mix it with my facial cleanser and use on my face once a day. I keep it away from my eyes as it is too harsh for that skin. When I am done my skin is glowing.
