Explore The Beauty Of Rural Thailand
Thailand tours are hard to beat
Thailand tours are hard to beat. There is so much to do, experience and explore in this wonderful part of Asia. Bangkok is the ideal place to fly into when starting any of the many Thailand tours on offer. It is an eclectic city that never sleeps. The hip and trendy Thais hang out in modern coffee shops and chat and flirt on the buzzing streets while avoiding the many moped drivers that cause organised chaos on the roads and pavements. Sharing these streets are the quiet but prominent saffron-robed monks who make their daily pilgrimage to one of the many ancient temples nestled among the modern shopping malls and big hotels. Bangkok should not be missed and a few days here make a worthwhile addition to any visit.
Explore the North
Exploring the north of Thailand is an exciting option for those more adventurous travellers. Trek through remote hill tribe villages, meet the local people, go elephant riding and delve into the traditional side of Thai culture. Each of the villages has its own language and religion, and each one, regardless of its uniqueness, is equally as welcoming. So, if you are looking to embark on more active and adventurous holidays consider one of the Thailand tours that heads north and takes you deep into the rural heart of this diverse and fascinating country.

Chiang Rai and the North of the Country
Tours around the north of the country usually start in the lively city of Chiang Rai, which is located in the province of the same name. Despite it being the coolest place, temperature wise, in the country, there is much to see and do here. It is one of the most rural places in Thailand with the majority of the area being mountain jungle. It was originally opium that drew people to this northern province but now its charm, beauty and the warmth of the local people that attracts people to this area.
Chiang Rai is often considered as much more laid back than the better-known city of Chiang Mai. Its smaller scale adds to its appeal and it has some wonderful night markets to explore. It is closer to a lot of the best places for trekking in the northern part of the country and there are also plenty of opportunities to stay with a local family on a homestay basis and really get to know the locals that live here.
Reputable companies offering
Thailand tours should have flexible itineraries so you can include some trekking, whether it be just a day trek or a longer three or four day trek. The treks usually involve some uphill walking - well worth the effort when you stop to admire the stunning views. Walking through the rice paddies you see the toil involved in growing this crop so important in the Asian diet. You may even get the chance to do some fishing, go foraging for jungle herbs and cook your own dinner Thai style.
The gorgeous country is a special and magical place that has much to offer the adventurous and intrepid traveller "" find out for yourself!
