Easy Steps To Finding A Wedding Photographer In Columbus Ohio
Weddings are a compilation of many elements
Weddings are a compilation of many elements. There is the ceremony site then on to the reception facility. Choices of caters and cake professionals. I wish that was it. Whether your a
wedding professional, the couple or a family member if you have ever planned a wedding you know there is so much more involved. One aspect of your planning is your
wedding photographer. This decision is one that affects how your event is not only captured but preserved. So how can we make this decision a little easier? There are questions to be asked and information to be researched as we build our list and narrow down to the final choice.
1. Get a referral. Did you attend a wedding recently? Ask around to friends, coworkers and family. Use these recommendations to start your list. Were the couple happy with their service, package and final photos? Ask questions.
2. Choose a style. The Internet has been a great tool for the client. In one night you can research many photographers in your area. Look through a photographers portfolio and other couple's images online. Each photographer will have a distinct style. You will see words from traditional to photo journalistic. Black and white, color and sepia tone print options. Just look for photos you like and write their name down. If you don't like the look then move on.
3. Keep a budget in mind. Next will come the
wedding packages. You might have to contact the photographer for more information. Be prepared some photographers might require you to meet with them. That's fine you want to also feel comfortable with your photographer. With packages most are basically the same. Get a good idea of what you would want. Maybe proofs are just fine or you want a nice coffee table book. As you view websites and meet with photographers tell them your budget. Maybe a package can be create to fit your interest and budget. Also some photographers might be willing to work with you depending on your wedding date and time.
4. Key elements to look for. Find a professional for your wedding, this is a once in a lifetime event. I am not trying to take away from a aspiring photographer at all. Everyone has to get a start somewhere. A professional should have backups of all equipment. A professional will have multiple weddings under there belt. They would have been through all the ups and downs of a wedding and probably not be rattle by the little mishaps that can happen. An amateur may become more of a distraction than someone that will help your day go smoothly. Most amateurs that are breaking into the wedding business are better off working as an assistant or second shooter to supplement the photographers work. Then when comfortable will branch out on their own. Using these basic steps I think you can make a decision or narrow down your list. Meet with the prospects, ask questions. In the end find a style you like and a photographer you feel comfortable with. Keep your budget in mind but as a second thought and still find a style that fits what you want to end up with at the end of the day.
