Do You Want To Lose Weight? Stop Dieting!!
Do You Want To Lose Weight? Stop Dieting!!
It took me 40 years and becoming a health and wellness coach to realize that
diets do not work!
There are millions of people who spend money on thousands of different fad diets
only to be disappointed with the results. Many companies promise quick weight
loss but do they promise that you will keep it off? Most of these diets require
you to consume fewer nutrients but when you do that you are essentially starving
yourself and starving your body of nutrients is not healthy and actually makes
you gain weight. This is because when your body is not getting enough
nutrition, it goes into a protective mode by lowering your metabolism and
holding onto fat! If you want to really lose weight and keep it off forever, you
need to change your lifestyle, stick to better health habits and stop the
dieting!
Is it difficult to change your lifestyle? Look at those around you who already
lead a healthy lifestyle. These are some of the healthy habits they share:
They enjoy great food! Stop counting calories and measuring your food. You can
enjoy your favorite foods, but you must do it in moderation. Reasonable eating
will not result in extra pounds. It is easy to remember: Eat six to ten
servings of vegetables and fruits per day (a serving is about to 1 cup of
vegetables or fruits) and stay away from processed junk foods as much as you
can. The more natural, organic food you can eat, the better your health will be!
They drink lots of water! Many people are dehydrated and do not even realize it!
When we have a lack of water in our bodies, we sometimes confuse thirst with
hunger and end up eating when all we really need is a glass of water. If you do
not like drinking water, add a little bit of flavor by adding fresh lemon or
lime to your water. Do not substitute soda, coffee, tea or fruit juices! We all
need eight to ten glasses of filtered water daily!
They stay active! Our bodies were designed for physical activity so why do so
many people hate to exercise? It is the lack of energy that most of us are
experiencing that keeps us from being motivated By changing your eating habits,
you will gain more energy and you will want to get up and get moving! You do not
have to join a gym to become physically fit. Find some kind of activity that
you enjoy that raises your heart rate and then do it daily. We find time to
shower, eat, work and play. Make exercise one of the things you have time for
every day!
They are Planners! Planning healthy meals ahead of time helps will keep you on
track for eating healthy! Take just twenty minutes to plan your meals for the
week and you will be pleasantly surprised at how much more successful you are in
adopting a healthier lifestyle. Remember that it usually takes more time to
order and pick up food or heat up processed food than it does to put a planned,
healthy meal together.
Eating healthier and exercising may take some work and planning, but you have to
make the decision to be healthier and be willing to stick with it. By making a
few simple lifestyle changes you will no longer need to diet and feel guilty
about eating. Changing your way of thinking is a key to a life of wellness!
