Normally you need to take 6-10 drops, three to eight times daily because these supplements are in liquid form and can be taken sublingually, meaning under the tongue.

The HCG supplement does not cause the loss of weight. The program does require a very low calorie diet, as low as 500 calories a day, and some let you take supplements like calcium, enzymes, vinegar, l-carnitine, coconut oil and a colon cleansing tea or tablet instead. The diet plan begins with two "load" days, where you take the drops and eat lots of calories and fat as preparation for the diet. Along with the subsequent calorie restrictions, there is also a recommendation to cut down or eliminate sugar and starch and drink at least two quarts of water per day. For exercise, you should do no more than 30 minutes of walking a day.

For those dieters who have no trouble limiting their calorie intake, HCG can make a tremendous difference by keeping your body in fat-burning mode instead of famine mode, where every calorie is carefully used or stored. In the long run you may lose up to one pound a day but in the beginning you may lose up to two pounds daily.

While continuing to lose a reasonable amount of weight, you are even allowed to cheat for a day or two every now and then.
