Dieting For Six Pack Abs

By eating a diet that provides the nutrition to build your abdominal muscles

, you'll find it far easier to actually get somewhere when your working out. So instead of pushing yourself overboard with your abs exercises, design a solid eating plan and watch as you get six pack abs really easily.

So lets take a quick look at what goes into the best six pack abs diet. First off your going to need carbohydrate. You may have heard elsewhere that you need as low carbs as possible. But I can tell you right now that if you want your body to function on top form then you'll need to be eating carbohydrate.

You see, without carbs your bodies energy levels will start to crash and when this happens you will actually decease in muscle not gain it. This is because you will not have the energy stores with which to build muscle.

Divide your bodyweight by two and this is how much carbs you need to consume in grams. Aim to eat your carb allowance before and after a workout as this is when your body will need it most.

Protein is the next component to getting six pack abs. Meats like Fish, Beef and Lamb contain this. It's critical that you get enough because these are literally the building blocks for your body. So without them you won't be able to build even a pound of muscle because your body won't have the raw materials to make the tissue.

Of course your diet right now will contain some protein, but you should try to be eating about 1.5 grams per pound of your bodyweight for best results. As well as this try to eat another 20g before and after your exercise routine.

You will in fact need fat for this diet. Fat is what keeps a lot of your bodies functions running, so the minute you stop eating fat you'll body will not be able to build muscle as fast. Multiply your bodyweight by 0.2 and this is how much fat you need in grams.

Every time I go to the gym I watch as people toil away with abs workouts, whilst not getting anywhere. What they don't know, is that doing these kinds of exercises will not burn the belly fat hiding there abs! They'd be able to lose there fat right away if they ate less calories, kept to an eating plan like this one and did some cardio training.

So with calories, try and only eat 10 for every pound of your bodyweight. You may notice that this is in fact quite a bit less than you may be used to eating, but I assure you that by sticking to this amount you'll lose your belly fat faster than ever.

Okay so now that you have the basics that you need to create your unique abs eating plan - get started. Some foods that you might want to include are: lentils, beef, pork, egg whites and quinoa. Those are some personal favourites of mine that I've had some good success with in the past.
