Dietary Oils: A Natural Weight Loss Solution
In America, obesity is now an epidemic and the trend has been spreading to other parts of the world as well
. People are getting excessively fat and the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) which consists mainly of low fiber and high fat foods as well as the sedentary lifestyle have been named as the major reasons for this. Health experts are concerned not only by the alarming rate at which people are becoming obese but at the increased risk for serious health complications that come with being so.
Most people who want to slim down go for weight loss products. These supplements offer quick and easy weight loss through formulations that use powerful and effective weight loss ingredients. However, such products are known to cause side-effects which range from mild to severe and in some instances, even death. Users often experience these health consequences when they do not carefully research a product before taking it. While some formulations are simply ineffective due to their mediocre formulations, some deliver quick and significant weight loss results but at the same wreak havoc on a user's system.
One alternative to weight loss supplements in getting rid of unwanted body fat are dietary oils. A study was done comparing the effects of two dietary oils on body composition and the results suggest that both oils can reduce body fat among obese postmenopausal women afflicted with Type 2 diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition that cannot be healed. When the body does not have enough insulin, blood glucose levels increase and when left uncontrolled, a diabetic experiences problems. An excessive amount of glucose in the blood can do much damage to the heart, veins, kidneys and eyes. This form of diabetes is hard to manage. The best way a person suffering from Type 2 Diabetes can deal with the disorder is by making significant lifestyle changes.
In the study mentioned above, the results show that safflower oil reduces fat in the trunk area, increases muscle tissue and lowers blood sugar. Conjugated linoleic acid, on the other hand, reduces total body fat and lowers body mass index (BMI) which is a measure of weight relative to height.
With all the health risks posed by certain weight loss products, dietary oils like safflower oil and conjugated linoleic acid are a welcome alternative. They offer a natural, effective and worry-free way to supplement a weight loss program that is centered on making relevant lifestyle changes.
