Copykat Recipes Save The Family Budget!
In today's economic climate, going out to a restaurant for supper with your
family is almost entirely out of the question! Who can afford going out and spending all that money on a meal that you could have made at home for under ten dollars. It costs a family of four $25 to eat out a typical fast food restaurant. If you go twice a week it adds up to $50 and if that schedule continues for the full year it will cost your family $2,600! What about a family chain restaurant, such as Applebys or Chillis? A couple can easily spend $40 each visit and if they go weekly, it adds up to $2,000 per year. If its a family of four, then you can double that amount and now you are spending $4,000 per year! Can you see how quickly each trip to a restaurant can dig into your family budget?
One way to combat this assault on your family budget is to cook at home. However, most people are afraid that what they cook at home is not up to the same quality levels that you find at restaurants, but that does not have to be the case! You can cook copykat recipes just like at the major restaurant chains. The great thing about copykat recipes is that you already know how it is suppose to taste. I hate making a recipe out of a cookbook and not really knowing if that is the way it is suppose to taste.
I am a father of four children, so going out to a restaurant can really break the bank, that is why I love copykat recipes. For St. Patrick's Day, I made my entire family, including my in-laws Shamrock Shakes, just like McDonald's for less than two dollars! I cannot even get one shake for that price at McDonald's. For my wife's 30th birthday party, I made Hawaiian Chicken just like Steak & Ale's for over 20 people! Everyone loved it and it didn't cost me that much. I even found a recipe to make Twinkies. They tasted great and I did not have to worry about what chemicals or ingredients were in there that I could not pronounce, because I already had all the ingredients in my house!
If you are in the same situation as I am, then you need to find copykat recipes that your family love. If everyone loves homemade meals so much, then why do so many people go out to restaurants? Once you start making copykat recipes in your own house, you can have the best of both worlds.
