Beach Huts Are A Fantastic Feature Of North Norfolk's Beautiful Coastline

One of the great attractions of staying in North Norfolk Hotels is that the beach is rarely more than a few miles away

. In many cases you will be able to drive there in a few minutes.

And there is such a diversity of beaches to walk along, right around this beautiful stretch of coastline that reaches from places like Hunstanton in the west, through to Wells, Brancaster, Holkham, Sheringham, Cromer, Mundesley and through to Sea Palling and beyond.

The great appeal is that the beaches all have their own character and qualities from the vast expanse of Wells and Brancaster to the pebbles of Sheringham.

Dotted along the shoreline of many of them are colourful beach huts, many of which are privately owned or available for rent on a daily or weekly basis, which is useful to know if you are staying in one of the hotels of North Norfolk.

They are perfect for seeking a little shelter from the breeze or escaping the heat at the hottest parts of the day. They are also a discreet little retreat for a sandwich and a cup of tea or changing out of a damp bathing costume.

Some of them are quite grand in design and have also been painted in bright colours that make them a marvellous feature of the coastline.

You are sure to spot them at some stage on a weekend break Norfolk and if you like them, you can take that lasting image away with them. They are often captured by photographers, available on postcards or lovingly drawn by local artists because they are so appealing on the eye.

Beach huts are often owned by families through the generations, even the Queen has one along the North Norfolk coastline, as well as people like captains of cruise liners and well-known business people.
