Americas Love Affair With Television
Over the years there have been a number of television programs that have won the hearts of the viewing audience
. Starting back in the 1950s with iconic shows like I Love Lucy, and The Honeymooners then moving through the decades to My Three Sons and The Dick Van Dyke Show, television has provided stages for some the genres greatest variety acts and hosts, including Jack Benny, Ed Sullivan, and Johnny Carson. In the 1970s programs like The Brady Bunch, Gilligans Island, and I Dream of Genie brought comedic episodes to television followed in the 1980s, 1990s and now 2000s with other quality programming that has always entertained and enthralled audiences.
While the big screen provided America with movies, the local networks began airing half hour to one hour shows that held the audiences attention, providing a full evening of entertainment. As the years passed, television became more nationalized and broadcasting centers picked up affiliates that carried TV transmissions into the homes of virtually every American. Through the advance of technology black and white picture tubes gave way to color television sets and now those have been replaced with flat panel televisions that enable greater screen resolutions and lifelike picture quality.
As televisions and television programs changed over the years so to have the delivery systems that bring the entertainment into the homes of millions of Americans. Cable and Satellite systems allowed greater viewing options and provided people with choices that they did not have before. Now satellite television has become affordable to every household in America and the equipment has changed how people receive and watch television. Ironically, the older programs of bygone eras continue to air on the cable channels that are dedicated to preserving the heritage of television.
Dish TV is making possible for viewers to not only select from a multitude of channels and movies, but has the ability to digitally record HD programs for playback when and where it is convenient for the audience. As the years have passed Dish TV has become even more popular and is a top selling option for people that want the most out of their television viewing entertainment.
While shows like MASH and Friends have passed on into the annals of history Dish TV viewers can still tune in to the classic laughs that brought so much joy to the American people. Thanks to the endless viewing opportunities there will never be an end to the number of times that our favorite programs will be aired, and with all of the new choices for viewing that Dish TV offers there is also an unending supply of new shows to win us over and renew Americas love affair with television.
