After the Wedding Before the Honeymoon: Wedding Brunch

Here's the scenario... the wedding is over, you're not leaving for the honeymoon yet and you have out of town guests around for a couple more days. One of the best things to do to spend a little more time with your loved ones is to throw a post-wedding brunch. Below are some helpful tips to help you start planning.

WHO TO INVITE: Post-wedding brunch is usually for the couples' families and wedding guests who have traveled from out of town, but feel free to invite anyone else important to you that you want there. With brunch anything goes, so be creative in deciding to go about it. But of course keep in mind budget and how much you can afford.. which bring us to...

WHO PAYS: Tradition says that in most cases the brides parents pay, but if you have the funds yourself it's a nice gesture to treat you parents and pay for it yourselves. Think of it as a way to play hosts and have your first little get together as husband and wife.

WHERE TO HAVE IT: With brunch anything goes you can have it in your backyard, a park picnic area, a landmark diner... really it's your prerogative. The brunch location depends entirely on where you want and how much you can afford to spend. It can be as fancy or as low key as you would like it be.

INVITATIONS: You could certainly insert a card into the wedding invitations of the guests you would like to invite. Or you could go about it less formal by sending an e-mail, calling around, or even making a Facebook event online. Cute additions to the brunch is to tailor the invites to the theme or location of the brunch. Brainstorm for ideas.

WHAT TO SERVE: Standard brunch menu's offer foods such as omelets, french toast, waffles, pancakes, scones, croissants, bagels, coffee; but can also include hardy foods such as steak, pasta, salad and fish. You can have the brunch catered or simply home cook all the foods yourself.
