A low fat diet will not cause you to lose weight over the long term

. It will prevent your weight loss. Not all fat is the same. Some fat will actually cause you to lose weight and get healthy.

There was a time that the solution for getting healthy and losing weight was to remove fat from the diet. This was supposed cause a person to lose weight and lose body fat. This never worked over the long-term. At best it causes a temporary loss of body fat.

There are three categories of fats:

Unsaturated fats, saturated fats, and trans fats. Trans fats are also called hydrogenated fats. You will see these on the labels on foods.

When you look at a nutritional label you will see it say how many calories of fat there are and also the weight of fat in grams per serving.

When you look at the information about weight, you will see a separation between the different fats. This will give you the information on how much of the different fats there are.

Here is the thing to know, unsaturated fats are good for you. They also cause you to lose weight.

Unsaturated fats are divided into two categories: Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Both are good.

Olive oil is a good example of this kind of fat. The fat in avocado is also an unsaturated fat and is very good for you. The fat in a lot of nuts like walnuts are also unsaturated fats and very good for you.

Also when a person consumes fat the digestive system will release enzymes that cause the body to break body fat down as well. When there is no fat in the diet, the body clamps down on metabolizing fat.

By consuming dietary fat, you body allows body fat to be metabolized.

Some of my clients go as high as 40 % dietary fat and lose a lot of weight. There are also proper ways to combine dietary fat with other foods to allow it to cause fat loss. With some combinations the fat loss slows down, but with other combinations it speeds up considerably.

Avocado

Fish (Cold Water is Best)

Flaxseed Oil

Pumpkin Seed

Olive Oil

Vegetables

Walnuts

Eating these with protein and vegetables and leaving out the starches will help you lose a lot of more body fat faster.
