A Beautiful Orange Wedding
A wedding, beautiful and white, with handsome groomsmen and beautiful bridesmaids
, a layered cake with small detail and black and white linens hosting vases of spring flowers. That is kind of what most people envision come wedding day. But not so cousin Lou. Cousin Lou sees weddings in bright orange with pink and green accents. Angela in the "Office" tells us that orange is "whorish." Good thing no one bothered telling this to cousin Lou as her wedding was orange and stunningly beautiful.
It was held outdoors close by an grove of orange trees, I really think that is where the inspiration came from. They were married under a canopy of flaming orange and white flowers. The white flowers were hydrangeas, big, fluffy and perfect in contrast to the orange ones. The tables were covered in bright pink and green with orange squares and sprinkled liberally with the same orange and white flowers, the center held a bouquet in a square glass vase, hydrangeas, willows and brilliant orange flowers. I really think something must have been dyed to become that flaming orange. The bottom of the vases were layered in small orange, like tangerines, only smaller. These too were sprinkled throughout the tables and serving tables and used in the wedding flowers.
As we sat in our orange covered chairs held proudly with white ribbons and bows waiting for the bride to make her appearance nothing could have prepared us for a bride to emerge wearing a stunningly beautiful orange wedding dress. I could say it was salmon or peach or any number of other variances to orange but it wasn't, it was a long, lace, satiny, amazingly fitted orange wedding dress. You might this this in bad taste or vulgar, it couldn't have been more the opposite. Lou doesn't do things in bad taste, nothing ever gaudy or cheap. Only classy and different and this dress was no exception. I guess the fact that the bride could grace the cover of any fashion magazine or movie screen helps her cause, but the effect was a breathtaking, never to be forgotten moment.
The food was all things orange and white with a little splash of pink and green thrown in. The orange soda reviews might be out but no one will ever forget that day or the spectacularly beautiful bride.
