It is good for us to be holding strong to a strict budget, at least for a while; however, there are still a few items that are definitely worth the little extra splurge, even in a struggling economy. In fact, you might want to consider that now may be a better time than any to get these extra splurges.

1. A Nice Vacation
With all of the stresses and headaches of the recent past, you, your spouse and kids deserve a nice get-away and quality time together. Or maybe even just a fun get-away with the girls or your buds.
It doesn't really matter if you travel to some exotic far off, tropical destination, or if you keep things a little simpler and closer to home.
With airports, travel agencies, and hotels trying to pull back the business, you are sure to find some great deals that will make your much needed get-away more affordable than you thought possible, and worth the splurge.
2. A Good Reliable Car
Maybe your current car is in desperate need of a good tune up, oil change, and scrub inside and out and that will be enough to keep her going for miles to come. Or maybe you are in need of a new car all together.
This splurge is definitely worth the money now. Not only will you be able to find great deals and specials everywhere you turn, but this is an investment that could save you from a lot of stress and heartache in the unpredictable near future.

So you've been meaning to get the washer fixed, the fridge replaced, the leak repaired and the windows resealed...but you'll do it "one day"...right? Stop waiting for "one day" to roll around...it's already here.

Why this one? Well, with all of the recent technological developments, one change that is sure to be hitting our homes in recent years to come is HD technology. You've probably heard of HDTVs and thought of them as a luxury for the rich.
Well this thought process is continuing to change as prices become reasonable and people realize that HD is not just hitting the television sets, but television and movie producing as well. Just like back in the day when we used to say "color TV" and now we say "TV"...this will soon be the case for HDTV.
Plus, investing in some good home entertainment items now will save you big money instead of having to go out for quality entertainment!
