What are the weight loss "rules" you need to follow in order to drop pounds? Do you have to go on a fad diet? Do you need to take diet pills? Do you have to exercise for hours a day?

In this article, I'm going to talk about 2 common "rules" you hear and read about so much and how by me avoiding these "rules", I would up losing more weight and burning of more fat than I could ever possibly imagine!

Rule #1 - You Have To Do Lots Of Cardio (that's bologna!)

You do not have to do lots of cardio in order to lose weight. In fact, doing too much cardio will only cause your body to lose muscle tissue... and that certainly is not a good thing! The main focus should be on building lean muscle tissue. With having more muscle on your body, the more your body automatically burns off calories. It's sort of like taxes. When muscle is introduced on your body, it continually has to pay taxes in order to stay on your body. And those taxes are calories!

Now yes, you do have to do cardio, but I'm recommending that you don't do too much of it. Instead, I recommend you do what's called interval training. This type of training is where you'll switch between high and low intensity during a workout. A good example of this type of exercise is a running/power walking routine. You could do something like power walk for 2 minutes and then run for 1 minute, and then do this for 20-30 minutes for a killer SHORT workout!

Rule #2 - You Have To Reduce Carbs, Fats, Calories (I don't think so!)

My friend, if you are sick and tired of hearing about how you need to reduce your carbohydrate intake, reduce your fat consumption, and the infamous "eat fewer calories to lose weight" recommendation, then I have some good news for you! You can take all of those things you've heard and wipe them from your memory right now... because they do not work and they are only going to cause you more problems than good!
