So it looks like Lance Armstrong has cycled his last professional race

. After this year's traumatic and ultimately unsuccessful Tour de France cycling's modern day hero will leave the sport to the next generation led by Alberto Contador, winner of the last two Tours. Armstrong will leave behind a legacy that is only slightly tarnished by his latest run in with the authorities. Lance Armstrong will not be simply drifting away you can be sure of that. A man who pretty much defeats cancer in the space of three months before going on to win seven consecutive Tours de France is not a man likely to slink off from the spotlight. With his charity to promote he will be at the forefront of many people's minds and that's definitely no bad thing. The man may have been blessed with phenomenal lung capacity but even this was not in excess of other Tour de France winners such as Miguel Indurain. Armstrong had to live through a career where he was labelled as a drug user. Despite all of the enhanced measures to check him, Armstrong never failed any drug tests. In March 2009 he sat his 24th test in the space of a year as once again it was shown that he had not used drugs. I for one will miss Lance Armstrong being involved in cycling. Without his presence it is unlikely many Americans would care about cycling and you only have to look at the numbers now cycling in the UK following their success in the Olympics to realise the potential good it could do. It would be amazing to see him try and energise our nation into sports and away from their televisions. I realise for those that don't care much about cycling or Lance Armstrong this hasn't been very exciting but he is a big hero of mine and I'm sure for many more out there. I spent the weekend catching the Tour de France and also playing online rake back poker in between rounds of golf. Played pretty well on the tables and on the course. The rakeback poker was more of a grind with several cash tables constantly on the go along with some MTTs which were buzzing around. Min cashes in half of the tournaments wasn't a great return but should be able to change that up a bit. The cash tables were producing some small profits and helping with the rakeback and making sure I qualify for some freerolls etc from www.rakebackpoker.com. Fairly certain I've played enough to get it done. For more info visit: http://www.rakebackpoker.com
