Causes Of Global Warming

Sun is one of sources of life for earth. Without the sun, we are extinct, But if the sun radiates more heat than usual, we are also will get burned and get the effect from ultraviolet radiation. A good sun light is that balanced between the amount of light and reflections, which illuminates the earth equal to that released from the earth. If the amount of heat which go into the earth and reflected back into the sky as much, then the earth remains healthy and eligible for humans. But if the heat which emitted to the earth more than that reflected back into space, then the earth will heat temperatures, this is called global warming.

Lots of people suffering currently and of course in the future due to global warming. In the next decades estimated sea water level will kept increase due to melting in the polar ice. The truth is global warming occurs because of humans against nature. What are the causes of global warming and how to prevent it?

There are so many causes of global warming, some type greenhouse gases directly responsible for the warming that we experience and humans are the largest contributors from the creation of greenhouse gases. Most of these greenhouse gases produced by burning fossil fuels in motor vehicles, modern factories, livestock, and power plants.

Greenhouse is actually an enclosed building which the walls and the roof that made from glass. Greenhouse serves to regulate micro-climate (the climate in the greenhouse) in accordance with our wishes. If the outside is like unto a winter, then in this greenhouse we are able to make a warm temperature. For that reason most of greenhouse is used for agriculture in an area that has four seasons. However, since the twentieth century we can see many office buildings using glass house which almost equal with mirror that function to reflect the sun light to avoid of light go into the building.

Well, the similar principle with this greenhouse effect is also causes of global warming on Earth. The heat from the sun which entering the atmosphere, not everything can be reflected back out of the atmosphere. Some of the heat is still stuck in the atmosphere. The reason is the massive pollution of CO2. Excessive of CO2 is able to inhibit the sun heat to come out that reflected by the earth.

The greatest CO2 pollution is from the burning of fossil fuels. This fossil fuel is formed from the fossils of ancient plants or animals. Fossil fuels can be such as crude oil (which later became the gasoline and diesel) and coal. Technological progress, Industrial and vehicles are the biggest contributor of burning fossil fuels. Until now, most of vehicles are still using gasoline or diesel fuel. Meanwhile lots of industries are using coal as a source of energy.

Industry

Industrial countries or developed countries are most responsible for global warming. Why? Because of developed countries like United States and European developed countries contributed 50 percent or more causes of global warming. The worst is the car industry that usually is dominated by developed countries, but now large-scale industries not only in developed countries but also in emerging countries like China, India, and Malaysia. Pollution from industry is almost evenly throughout the world.

Livestock activities is the main causes of global warming

In 2007, Russell wrote a report "Impact of Global Warming and Carbon footprint" Impressions that appear in the popular science magazine Australasian Science. He said: Livestock create greenhouse gas emissions in lots of things. Livestock is the main cause of land clearing in the whole world, especially in Australia.

From a hundred million hectares of land in Australia that has experienced deforestation, about 70 million from that amount for livestock. There are only around 25, 26 million for harvest, and only use about 2 million hectares.

Livestock creates a lot of greenhouse emissions of methane and Nitrous oxide. Methane is generally produced by ruminant animals when they digest food. We have 90 million sheep and 28 million cattle in this country. They are 24 / 7 a methane-producing machine, and the amount of warming that methane produced in Australia certainly more than the entire of our power station coal.

What a surprise, the way of methane measure is very confusing because the standards set by the Kyoto Protocol to measure methane equal to the size of "carbon dioxide". Heat caused by the methane is much higher than carbon dioxide, and that is why we can say that methane from sheep and cattle produce the effect of global warming far greater than our power station coal.

Livestock has also been a major cause of damage to soil and water pollution. Currently livestock using 30 percent of the land surface on Earth, and even more land and water used to grow animal feed. According to reports Mr. Steinfeld, senior author of the Food and Agriculture Organization (Livestock's Long Shadow-Environmental Issues and Options), the livestock is the "main drivers of illegal logging". Approximately 70 percent of former forests in the Amazon has been converted into livestock fields.

In addition, the field of cattle feed has reduced the quality of the soil. Approximately 20 percent of the meadows experiencing decreased of quality due to excessive animal husbandry, compaction, and erosion. Livestock are also responsible for the consumption and pollution of water very much. In the United States trillions of gallons of irrigation water used to grow livestock feed annually. Approximately 85 percent of clean water sources in the United States used to it. Livestock also cause excessive biological waste for the ecosystem.

Besides damage to the environment and ecosystems, is not difficult to calculate that the livestock industry is very extravagant in energy consumption. Livestock industry requires an abundance of energy to convert livestock into meat on the dinner table.

To produce one kilogram of meat, has produced carbon dioxide emissions as much as 36.4 kilograms. Whereas to produce one calorie of protein, we only require two calories of fossil fuel to produce soybeans, three calories for corn and wheat; but requires 54 calories of oil energy to the ground beef protein! That means we have been squandering fossil fuel 27 times more just to make a hamburger rather than the consumption required to make a hamburger from soya beans!

It is not easy to change our habits to not eat meat as a vegetarian especially to become a vegan, but at least we can reduce our habit to eat meat and reducing our carbon footprint. It all depends on your abilities and awareness; at least do something useful for you and our earth!
