Women simply will not get big bulky muscles - not any time soon...not ever.Traditionally women have focused on repetitive, long, slow, recreational activities like walking, jogging and cycling with calorie restriction to lose weight. This did not work for them as 95 percent of all restrictive food diets fail and without proper muscle building and maintaining exercise you can never ever have a strong, lean and healthy body. If you ask most women what they really want they would say this is the type of body they would like most. The old fashioned methods of cutting calories and 'cardio' exercise could never be effective as they work against the body rather than with it. These two things combined slow the metabolism (the body's engine) and actually contribute to a merry-go-round of yo-yo dieting and exercise to try and force the body to give up its fat stores.But this is simply fighting a battle that can never be won. Our bodies are hardwired to protect themselves from the ancient threat of starvation and quickly go into 'survival mode' when calories are reduced below a certain level. Once this level is gone below the brakes go on fat loss and energy output is reduced to conserve fuel. Repeated attempts at this teach the body to hold on to its fat stores more efficiently.The new way of losing weight is a much better way. Forget the old fashioned 'cardio' type activity and simply add a proper program of strength training exercise to tone up the entire muscular system. This will boost the metabolism and increase the fuel (calorie) burning rate every minute of the day and night.Women who add strength training exercise to a proper eating plan of 5-7 small meals and which focus on portion control and not simply calorie restriction will have a much easier time getting into good shape and faster weight loss results. It is important that these meals each contain around 20 grams of protein and around 300-400 calories.The strength training program also needs to be performed properly with some effort put into it. Intensity (degree of effort) used is what makes the difference between getting fantastic results or non existent results. The healthy eating plan is the other half of the equation giving plenty of energy to be able to workout properly to make the necessary changes to the metabolism. This better way of getting into good shape is all about more - more food -more energy- more strength - more results. The old way was about less - less food - less energy - less strength and way less results.
