Women Enpowerment-are You Tapping Into Your Prosperity Hormone?

Recent press and statistics cite that women will become an increasingly more powerful force in business and society at large

. Many companies are playing catch up on promoting women to their senior boards recognising the appeal of an alternative leadership style to the male status quo. A good many women, however, are choosing to go it alone and set up their own businesses. The network marketing industry is dominated by women who recognise both the power of the internet and social media to grow their brands and collaborate with people globally. Many cite dissatisfaction with the traditional male dominant cultural model and a desire to bring more of themselves to their work.

It is widely believed this trend will continue to grow and the next generation of wealth creators will be women.

So what do women offer that is different and how can women use their own feminine energy to tap into their own power and the prosperity of abundance?

Many writers to date have focused on the basic differences in leadership styles between men and women recognising a degree of physiology. Women, by and large, are labelled as nurturers and relationship builders and men as distinctly more competitive, confident and overtly more ambitious. Yet there are many examples of women and men who don't fit neatly into either of these camps.

The question here is do women seek to adopt a certain type because of nature or nurture?

Understanding our physiology enables us to tap into our feminine energy and create an alternative path of abundance to the masculine model.

Our basic physiology incorporates an automatic nervous system which includes the parasympathetic system and the sympathetic system.

Going back to the time of our evolution when we were hunter gatherers the sympathetic system deals with the fight or flight tendency. When we are in a life threatening situation or fear a threat of some kind our bodies respond by producing the adrenaline hormone.

In business men tend to display more of the adrenaline hormone. They were traditionally the hunters and protectors whilst women have always been the nurturers. This hormone presents itself more obviously with competitive and dominant behaviour traits and a success mindset and attitude set which states 'you can do it' 'go for it' motto. It is a survival mechanism.

Women don't tend to have this within their cellular memory field and so when females try to adopt the same practises as the male if often leads to failure, frustration, criticism and isolation and generally presents itself as less attractive and altogether less empowering.

In our evolved complex business world of today the male model hasn't really had to adjust too much from the days of basic survival yet women have had to create a kind of hybrid. Many women have attempted to adopt the predominant model to fit in and get on. They attempt to think in the same way using an overtly left brain linear analytical approach to justify their decision-making without too much reference to feelings or at least the acknowledgement of them. Many women have suppressed their natural intuitive tendencies and this causes dissonance in the body.

A certain amount of stress is good for all of us but as women's chemical reactions to stress are different then too much cortisol released in the body, a reaction to the fast paced lives, multi-tasking functionality and the ability to keep up with the boys actually produces weight gain, depression, fatigue and exhaustion.

To tap into the female prosperity hormone we need to magnetise both what we are thinking and feeling.

Dr Ellie Drake defines 4 categories of women who are at various stages of recognising how to use their feminine physiology;

Category 1

Women in the adrenaline model.

Many women have tapped into this in the past and there are many still in this category trying to survive in a competitive corporate environment. This is not congruent to their bodies and these women will be seen as rather aggressive because they are confused biochemically. Here is an interesting article by Margaret Heffernan on the various women stereotypes at work.

Category 2

Women who develop resentment

They types are likely to come across as super-sensitive as they struggle to manifest their desires at a physical level. They will be intuitive but haven't yet learned to recognise their own feelings sufficiently from those of others.

Category 3

Women who have fallen into flow.

These types will have followed their instincts which has created some positive actions in their life and provided a spark of synchronicity but there is no consistency .They have tapped into their own courage recognising there is a better way but they have not yet found their full magnetism and inner power and congruence.

Category 4

Women who are using their full potential

These types have learned to tap into their prosperity hormone consistently which is oxytocin, produced in the hippocampus of the brain. This is a hormone that flows through your body at various times such as when giving birth, breast-feeding, making love but essentially when bonding with others.

Oxytocin can be secreted on demand when we learn to activate the parasympathetic system which typically instils the 'tend and befriend' behaviour within us. Women fare far better in business and life when they are able to cooperate and collaborate with others rather than forced to compete. Success, however, is not just about developing great relationships it is also about recognising the need to take action. Women are more naturally givers in business but we must also learn to ask for help, support and direction.

When we adopt the more natural female model we tend to fall in harmony with our surroundings and people sense our inner power and magnetism as authentic behaviour. We are now more naturally attractive to others and can fully exploit own power to create abundance.
