Planning for your wedding is as important as your wedding day
. Yes, your wedding day is very special to you, that is why you do your best to prepare yourself physically so that you will look gorgeous on that day. But if you fail on planning, you are planning to fail. And you don't want that to happen.
That is why you have to make preparations months or even years before the big event. You do that by sitting down with your partner and making a list of tasks you need to accomplish during the preparation period. How much you are going to spend on your wedding day is very important. Make sure you make allowances for your budget on everything you need, from invitation to centerpieces, your guest list and others.
Now if you want to plan your wedding on your own, that would be okay because some couples nowadays do that. But it would be better if you get a wedding planner so that you and your partner can focus more on your own relationship.
Deciding whom to choose as your maid of honor or best man from among your friends is not easy since you don't want them to feel bad for not being chosen to play a special role on your big day. If you already have a maid of honor or a best man, you may want to assign your other friends as the bridesmaids and groomsmen, that way there will be no hard feelings between you. Make sure you also have a list of who your major/minor sponsors will be. And don't forget the cute flower girls. I know a bride who didn't have bridesmaids on her wedding but chose to have mostly flower girls on her entourage instead.
In choosing your theme, go for uniqueness! You don't want to go along with the crowd with all their traditional church weddings. But it's really okay if you do. Just make sure you put a personal touch so that your guests will never forget your wedding day.
Next, decide what kind of invitation you are going to make. A beach themed invitation or a bohemian themed invitation perhaps. It's up to you as long as it is straight to the point and will give people the idea of what they're going to expect to see on your wedding.
When getting a photographer make sure you hire a professional. It's kind of expensive but I assure you that it's worth it. This way you can be sure that all your wedding moments will be captured beautifully!
