Have you ever had the experience where you met a guy, maybe even went out on a date or two, and you were expecting him to call you back and he never did? Sure you have. I don't know too many women that have not had this kind of experience at least once, and chances are, it probably has happened more than once.

So, why is it that he doesn't call back?

There are lots of reasons why a guy won't call, some of them don't even seem like they would be an issue, and yet they are. One thing that you need to always keep in mind is, you really do not want to get too worked up about a guy not calling you.

I know, it can be devastating when you expect him to phone you and he doesn't, but it definitely is not the end of the world OR your dating life.

Here are 3 common reasons why a man will flake out and not call even if he said he would:

1. He's trying to play by the "rules" and not act too eager for you.

Most guys have this 3 day rule that they swear they have to abide by, so if he doesn't call right away, it might just be that he's trying to play by those rules. And sometimes, when a guy does try to play by these rules, and he avoids the phone for three days, he can end up getting cold feet about making the phone call.

2. He threw you a line to get what he wanted.

This might be the reason if you just happened to get physically intimate with him, and he just wanted to throw you the line about calling so he did not look like the kind of guy that was just out for the fling. If this is the case, then by all means, you are probably better off that he did not call you. After all, you really don't want to get caught up with a guy like that, do you?

3. He got scared.

Some guys will get scared thinking that maybe they really did meet a great woman (you) and now they are thinking too far ahead and it is getting the nervous. This is pretty common, because regardless of the stereotypes about men, a lot of guys are thinking about relationships, and it might have happened to scare this one off a little. It's okay though, there are things that you can do to "pull him back" to you and you can get him calling you on the phone again.
