Men want it all....too. Just like you, they want to keep the thrill alive. But then things change. One day he bought you flowers and then the next he grew a belly. It cuts both way though. Isn't true that we're the girl of his dreams one day and then become nearly unrecognizable when we come through the door sans makeup and wearing our grunge sweats? We didn't like it when he changed. I can assure you he wasn't enamored with your own transformation.
A Man Wants a Best Friend. Men aren't as good as women at balancing a committed relationship with the comradeship of friends. Women use their friends as outlets for unloading their problems and complaining about their relationship. Men don't do that with their friends. They don't see their friends to talk over their problems but, rather, to escape from them. So, if feels as if he can't spill his guts to his partner, he just crawls into his man-cave. It's vital to become the best friend with who he can talk about anything. Men rarely leave their true best friend.
Men want sex to be like the first time. It used to be that just any sex was the requirement for a good relationship. And, generally, men won't complain as long as they're getting it often enough. The problem is that when sex becomes merely a habit, or something on the to-do list, it no longer resembles what occurred in the bedroom when you first together. Although men would like sex often, they don't necessarily need an erotic crescendo each and every time, but they do like an adventure every now and then.
Men want to be appreciated. They want to know that their very existence of some import to you. When they feel like they are starting to blend in with the decor, they lose appreciation for the relationship.
Men want a shared commitment. When men commit, they do so even as their natural instinct is to hump anything in sight. So, relationship commitment is a pretty big deal to them. Women, on the other hand, sometimes take relationship commitment for granted and, so long as they include their man in all of the party plans, their commitment is fulfilled.
Yes, Men want it all. They want your love, your respect, your appreciation, you ear, your understanding, your willingness to let them be a boy every now and then, and, they want the passion that may have been lost. We really can't blame our men for that. Why? Because, they got it from us.
So, men will leave. But, it's not too late. What men want more than anything is to be asked, "What do you really want"? Give them some time, however, because they're not used to being asked.
