Who To Have Close On Your Wedding Day
Surround Yourselves With Your Close Friends & Family On Your Wedding Day
As the economy continues to recover, the latest wedding trend is for couple to plan a smaller, more intimate wedding. Other reasons for this latest trend is that the average age of a bride is rising, now 27, which also means that more couples are footing the bill for their nuptials. Couples are also more inclined to want a quality event and have a luxurious atmosphere with beautiful linens, lighting, and flowers and a smaller event allows couples to spend more on these details and have a truly wonderful experience. If you are planning to have a small intimate wedding, here are some tips to help you make it a truly unique and fun experience for you and your guests:
Home Sweet Home
Although you might be in a hall, make it feel homey. Chose a location that feels like home. Make it cozy, comfortable, and intimate. Add some soft lighting and smaller tables to encourage good conversation. You want your guests to feel close to you and part of the action. Perhaps forgo the traditional long rectangular head table and opt for a square table where you can actually chat with your wedding party.
Memories Of The Past
Everyone loves old photos. Proudly display old photographs for your guests to look at. Perhaps these are photos of you both as children, pictures taken throughout your courtship as well as engagement photos. Consider also honouring those in your families who have passed away, with a photo tribute. Its also a nice touch to display your parents wedding picutres in frames that match your wedding theme in either color or design. These can be placed on your receiving or cake table. You may also want to do a computer slide show during cocktail hour of all of the photos so guests will have something to look at and talk about.
No Line Be Personal
Although a receiving line is traditional, some couples are opting out of this but still ensuring they can chat with their loved ones by spending a few minutes at each table talking with their guests. Having a smaller wedding really gives you a chance to personally thank each guest for making your day so special. You can also thank your family and friends in your speeches and ensure you get a hug out to everyone for helping you celebrating your marriage.
