First, if you want to date a Japanese girl, you have to be man enough to stand on your own early in life. This doesn't mean you have to have had a tough life to impress the girl. According to Japanese culture, people are quite serious about responsibility. Many parents teach their kids to stand by their own feet at an early age (my wife had part-time job when she was 16). Many kids leave their home when they are only 18 to get their own place and start looking for a job.

I shall give you an example of a cool guy to date a Japanese girl. His name is Hidesan (Mr.Hi-de), and he is now my cousin in-law. He is currently about 30 years old now. I had the chance to meet him for first time in New-Zealand, where he was visiting to get in some snowboarding. Afterwards, he was heading to Australia, then Thailand after that (this guy travels a lot). The more I got to know him, the more I think his story and character is quite interesting.

My wife really respects him as a role model, and she told me his story. Hidesan decided to leave his parents when he was just 18. It wasn't atragedy; they didn't have a big fight or some kind of trouble. He just felt he was a bother to his parents. He left home, found an apartment, and a job working as a newspaper carrier while he was in university. Hidesan is veryenthusiastic about life. He has never stopped moving his ass. He works hard during the week, plays hard on weekend, and has many friends and a great social life. Moreover, he is very polite.

Even talking to his cousin he uses "watashi" every time, meaning "I" in a formal way. Nevertheless, the reason I respect him most is, he is very "modest". In the conversation he has never shown off his potential, which he has tons. Never underestimate or misjudge someone, especially you guys who want to date a Japanese girl. Don't be cocky in front of her, Japanese people are modest; they never say they are the best- like some countries. They normally compliment others, but never themselves. So, if you don't act like they are accustomed to; your date may feel incredibly uncomfortable.

In conclusion, the three most important words to remember are; Polite, Gentle and Modest. Remember this always and you can date a Japanese girl with confidence. It may even go so well, your date may text message you with a "Thank you for tonight, I had a wonderful time"! Good luck guys!
