Patients should go to the grocery store, bank, pharmacy, clean the house, and do any other chores prior to surgery. If you have children or have chores you need to get done in the week after surgery, try asking a family or friend to help you out. Engaging in any strenuous activity could causes stitches to bust, wounds to rupture, and delay overall healing time.
Take Pain Medication
Plastic surgery patients should take their pain medication as advised by their doctor or pharmacist. Taking pain medication can make the recovery period easier on the patient and allow you to sleep in the days after surgery.
Do Not Smoke
Smoking cigarettes can have a significant affect on the amount of time it takes you to heal after undergoing plastic surgery. Patients should avoid smoking cigarettes in the weeks before and after surgery.
