The language on the box is specific, not general. And it's filled with clues. So take the time to read the box on all four sides you'll find a wealth of information that will tell you if this is the right hair color for you.
For example, Permanent Color means exactly that. It's permanent coverage so you'll be able to cover all your grays. No Ammonia means it's a semi-permanent formula, which gives you sheer, glossy, translucent coverage. Natural Color With Highlights or Shimmering Color means the natural dimension in your hair will show through, not be covered up. It's a nice, soft look and works well if you're not gray.
Sunlit or any word that uses Sun in it means warmth. The color will be on the warmer side and will read golden, caramel or spice. That's great if that's what you want, not so great if you don't. Know your skin tone before you shop. Your hair color should complement your skin tone, not contrast it.
Do you look better in warm colors or cool tones? For hair color, the most common signifier of Cool is ashy. You might also come across Green, Blue
or Violet terms. A Neutral hair color has equal parts warmth and cool in it.
In general, go by the color name rather than the level number. Because sometimes the numbers aren't consistent across the board. Be aware of this and you'll stay on the right path.
