If you are saying something like "what do you do when you can't get over someone", then it sounds to me like you didn't really want to breakup to happen in the first place.

If you know that you want to be back with your ex because you know that is want you really want, then it is time for some serious soul searching and for some time out so you can plan your attack properly. It is pointless rushing back to your ex because you are lonely and you can't cope on your own. The better approach is to try and work out what went wrong and then to put a plan in place that will enable you both to get back together, not for a week or so, but forever.

You owe it to yourself and those around you to find happiness again. If that means trying to undo the mistakes of the past, then so be it. In the end, if it means having to apologize or make compromises for the sake of having a long term relationship with your lost love again, then so be it.

Life is short enough as it is without having to live yours without the one you really love. The time is now for you to take steps to make sure that your breakup is not forever.
