What Are The Reasons For Infertility?

Ever wondered if all you knew about the reasons for infertility was accurate or there

was something that you did not know? Read this amazing in-depth article to find out more.

Medical science and particularly the gynecological division now knows that a woman conceiving is not something that is god gifted, but even then, the exact finer details are as yet unknown, more so in those cases where the woman is not able to conceive. Yes, what are the exact reasons for infertility as of today remains unknown in many cases and this is why many couples are told that there are some "unknown factors" that are coming between them and their efforts to have a baby. But it also needs to be mentioned here that in many cases we do indeed know the reasons, but the fact is, in many others, we do not.

Here we are however trying to find out about the reasons for infertility that we are aware of, and they have been mentioned in many research papers and studies. In the case of males, the biggest reasons concern low sperm count or/and its abnormal shape, limited life span of the sperm and also variocele, which is another condition that can be blamed. Many of these reasons happen when the man in question leads a harmful lifestyle which includes excessive smoking or drinking and addiction - all this can degrade the quality of the sperm. Wearing tight clothing such as jeans can also reduce the sperm's quality. In recent studies another very alarming thing was observed and this is that, those who have a higher scrotum temperature, are more likely to become infertile. It has also been observed that showering at super heated tubs for long can also lead to infertility.

There can be many reasons that cause infertility in women of which the most common happens from a condition that is known as PID or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease where the fallopian tubes are affected, and when this happens, the movement of the egg gets blocked. There are other reasons as well such as Gonorrhea and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Sometimes abortions are critical clinical procedures, but these may be carried out sometimes in non-sterile conditions and when this happens, the entire reproductive system of the woman may get affected. Infertility in women can be caused from this too.

Ovarian cysts or the polycystic ovarian syndrome is quite common among women, and the bad news is, this can also lead to infertility. Though in most cases the cysts do not cause any problems, but this is what happens at least in some of them. And when it does, the production of the follicle-stimulating hormone is severely compromised and as a result, the follicle is unable to make a matured egg. This naturally makes the woman infertile. The follicles become swollen and begin to appear like a fully grown grapefruit and leads to a lot of troubles.

Infertility in women can also happen from Premature Ovarian Failure or POF according to some studies. This happens when the woman begins to produce fewer follicles even before she has become 40 years old and this is kind of a pre-menopause condition. Naturally the woman would not be able to conceive in such a condition and thus it can be said that she is infertile.

Female infertility happens too when the menstruation stops because of instability in the thyroid gland and hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal system which is responsible for regulating the reproduction process. This is known as Functional Hypothalamic Amenorrhea. And another reason is Idiopathic Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism which stops the functional ovaries from being developed. Some other causes of female infertility are Luteal Phase Defect and Benign Uterine Fibroids.

There can be so many reasons for infertility in both males and females. So when someone wants to find a treatment and get rid of the problem, it is important that a diagnosis needs to be made as to the exact cause. However ironically, the conventional approach is not able to do this. All it does is suggest assisted techniques that include IVF and ICSI, whose success rate is low anyway (just about 33%), and they often come with harmful side effects as well. Holistic remedies are much better in this because firstly, the person's overall health is analyzed and then Chinese medications, herbs, diet, acupuncture, exercise and lifestyle changes are suggested so that the real causes can be eradicated. The results with holistic remedies are much better naturally.
