How to Send Wedding Invitations
If you want to send your wedding invites happily, you should look for a good design. With the guests and words being selected, it is time to put the plans to their finishing stages. Here are a few guidelines to be aware of:
-If there are going to be children as the guests, you can write down their names individually, over the addressed envelopes. As an inviter, you may even write: Mr. and Mrs. John Gomes, Cindy and Will or Mr. and Mrs. John Gomes and Family.
-If the kids are grown up teens, about or above 16, you might invite them individually just as you would invite an adult.
-If the kids are not to be included, you should not write and family or their names on the envelope. You should also write specifically that kids are not invited. If you want them to be physically present at the function and not during the service, you can mention this on your response card and within the invitation below in style.
-While you are issuing the invite to a single guest, you need to write and Guest over the outer part of the envelope so that they are able to bring someone along with them. For example, you can write Mr. Frank Perry and Guest, or Miss Christine Jones and Guest.
-Be alerted that about 10% of the guests who reply in the affirmative will not be there at the wedding. More than 20 to 30% of the people will not be there at the function which can cause alarm while planning the sit down dinner. Some might require the option of having a buffet dinner instead.
-You might feel like inviting some people for the service, though not for the function and if it is so, you will need a set of two invites. One of them will have the invitation for the reception, while the other will not.
-If the guests do not respond by the reply date, dont hesitate to give them a call. It is important that you are aware of how many people will show up at the wedding so that you can plan accordingly.
-If you prefer ordering the invites, you must do it about a month to 6 weeks before the wedding date.
-Check the whole invite thoroughly before the final print. This includes the wedding programs, envelopes, invitations, response cards, etc, and look out for spelling errors.
