When planning a wedding it easy to get caught up in all the little things that really aren't that important

One of the main reasons people find thank you notes overwhelming is because they are unsure of who to thank and what exactly to thank them for. To avoid such confusion it is advisable to start out planning to send out thank you's right from the beginning of your wedding preparations. Plan ahead to keep track of gifts given and services rendered so that you're not trying to recall everything afterwords.
One Of the most important things to do is plan ahead. When preparing for your wedding make sure you have thank you cards. This way you don't have to wait until the very end to write them. At my wedding I was getting gifts way before I got married. It helped to write them right then so I wasn't so far behind. And this also helped me remember all the wonderful people that helped made my day so special.
As you are opening your gifts, either have someone take notes on who gave what while you are opening them or keep all of the cards and notes with the appropriate gift so that you can go through and make note of who should be thanked for what later. Remember that it is the thanks that matters most of all, so if all else fails and you can't remember what to thank an individual for having given you, thank them for giving you their time and for having joined in your celebration.
