Ring (wedding ring) has its own importance in wedding ceremony
. It is so at the time of engagement also, but wedding ring has it unique stand in the ceremony. Traditional design of a wedding ring is rounded one but now- a -days designer square shape or half circle shape are available.
Basically this is British tradition but it is spread worldwide now. The place to put it is left fourth finger which is named ring finger after this reason. It is assumed that the vein attached to the base of this finger is connected to heart. So, by wearing this into left forth to his lady it is a promise to give her silver and gold in life that is satisfaction and wealth.
Traditionally men do not wear such a ring but it is a modernized style and accepted all over the world. At the time of ceremony, the man or guy who keeps this is called Best man or ring bearer, probably a young junior relative of bridal party. He has the duty to keep it and produce it at the perfect moment of the ceremony.
Because this is most memorable moment in persons life the wedding ring is made of precious metals like yellow gold, rose gold, platinum, silver mix gold. Jewels like diamond, ruby, pearl are also used. In the jewelry of a bride this one is most center point of attraction so it is the attraction of jewelry designers also. There are many innovative ideas developed by them in the design of ring by them like designer pair of rings of plain platinum or white gold is the latest trend.
This tradition is so well spread now that it is accepted by almost all aver the world. It is traditionally accepted in Indian continent, African continent etc. Though there are another symbols already exist in those traditions ( e.g. Indian women wear such ring of silver in toe finger, a necklace , red or green bangles) this ritual is easily accepted and carried over with all other rituals to the next generations. This small way of expression has crossed all the boundaries and grasped the minds of young lovesick fellows.
