Weddings are special moments in the lives of all who participate in them

, be it the bride and groom or their guests. Of course weddings are usually expensive affairs and most people want to go as far as they can with regards to entertainment, food, and of course photography.

Wedding photographers are a dime a dozen nowadays and most are pretty good at what they do. Once the wedding is over however and a couple receives their pictures the question of what to do with them arises. Some couples will elect to view them once or twice and then promptly tuck them away in a box or container for years at a time. Others will create physical scrapbooks before putting them

away in storage as well.

While both of these are common practices among newlyweds, storing precious pictures in the aforementioned manners can be detrimental to the health of the photographs therein. Heat, moisture, dirt, and even insects can quickly take their toll on pictures of all types. This is why it's advisable to have wedding pictures converted into digital format and placed onto a medium like a DVD. DVD's are built to last a lifetime and are far more convenient when couples want to view their wedding photographs.

The one thing that couples don't want to do however is create a virtual or digital scrapbooks for their pictures themselves. Hiring professionals to do the job guarantees that pictures will be converted properly and quickly but also ensures that the transfer will look great. Commercial scanners do a decent job at copying pictures to a computer but only a professional scanner and experienced hands can make a digital copy look as good as a physical copy.
