For example, dehydration, stomach cramps, gas, nausea, vomiting, rectal bleeding, osteomalacia, heart attack, and electrolyte disorder. Too much use of laxatives can also cause permanent damage to your body's digestive system; you might have chronic diarrhea, chronic constipation and pain, and gastrointestinal tract damage as a result of it.
Supporters of this method to lose weight claim that it is harmless as long as you drink a lot of water and replenish the minerals that you lose from your body by taking supplementary pills. Nonetheless, if you consider how much you put your life in danger not to mention how much careful planning you would have to do by using laxatives to lose weight, I think the cons, without a shadow of doubt, overrule the pros. Long story short, using laxatives to lose weight should be avoided at all times. They should not be abused for that purpose and should be used for medical purposes only.
There are other natural and safer alternatives out there. Think of the evergreen solution to your weight loss problem which is exercising and eating right. Aim to exercise three times a day and go for low caloric food like fruits and vegetables, and whole grains instead of refined grains. By burning more calories than you take in, you will definitely lose weight healthily and happily.
