. America is the fattest country on the planet. And it is getting worse day by day. There a couple of reasons why America is getting fatter and fatter each and every day. One, there is so many chemicals and hormones put into our food supply. And it is these dangerous chemicals that are making us fat. And second, our culture of two income earners and wanting everything now. No one cooks anymore. There is a fast food restaurant at every corner and the drive thru lines are always full. It's no wonder weight loss in America is a challenging endeavor.

To make matters worse, most people make the biggest mistakes when it comes to weight loss and getting into shape. As a weight loss expert, I have helped correct these mistakes and get tons of people into killer shape.

The first mistake I see people make time and time again is cutting their calories too low. People actually think they can starve themselves and lose weight. Not a chance. When you cut your calories to low, your body slows down your metabolism in order to survive. Plus, eating too few calories results in low blood sugar and out of control hunger pangs. So, you feel terrible with no energy and you are constantly craving sugars. This is a terrible place to be and is totally ineffective to weight loss.

Second, most people just over do traditional, slow-paced cardio. Go to your local gym and just take a look at all the same fat people doing cardio. Most of these same people look exactly the same as they did a year ago. Let me fill you in on a secret, traditional cardio is the least effective method when it comes to weight loss.

The third biggest weight loss mistake I see is people eliminating all their carbohydrates. This became very popular because of the Atkins Diet. These low-carbohydrate diets are very harmful to your body and just don't work like people think they do. Your body needs carbohydrates for energy. Your brain also needs carbohydrates, in the form of glucose to function properly. It is very common for people who are on low carbohydrate diets to have no energy, lose valuable calorie-burning muscle tissue and feel irritable. And usually, these people gain all the weight back.

The next biggest weight loss mistake is people taking all their fat out of their diet. Your body needs fat. There is good fat, like the fat found in salmon, known as unsaturated fats. The bad fats are the saturated fats found in red meat and other animal proteins, excluding fish. Your body needs unsaturated fats for many bodily functions.

The last biggest weight loss mistake that I see many Americans making is they don't eat enough fibrous vegetables. Eating a ton of fibrous vegetables is going to help you lose a ton of weight. The fiber will help keep you regular and cleanse your colon. And an unclogged colon goes a long way when it comes to weight loss and a faster metabolism.
