When we pull the door and come into a HOT YOGA studio our mindset changes immediately. And that is always a feeling of well being, especially during the winter when it is freezing outside. This immediate feeling of well being is expressed on the emotional and physical level. The heat works as a powerful and natural sedative on our mind. We immediately relax and calm down . As we remove tensions and worries our body relaxes too . We start our practice free of any mental or physical resistance, ready to get all the benefits of our yoga practice.

2: INCREASE OUR MOTIVATION TO GET BACK ON THE TRACK AND ON THE MAT.

As humans we are warm-blooded and able to maintain our own body temperature independent of their outside environment. This is called 'thermoregulation' and refers to a natural physical balancing of heat loss, with heat production in our bodies. As adults, when we are hot, our bodies sweat to compensate and cool down.

In a HOT YOGA class we sweat almost after the first five o ten minutes of the beginning of the class. Our mind relates the sweat to a hot environment but also to hard work. The gratification is immediate, we feel the practice worth and so we do . And thats a great feeling especially if we beat ourselves up for being undisciplined, weak o lazy. We recreate a positive mental image of ourselves that helps us to go deeper with our yoga practice .The memory of this positive image of ourselves and the pleasure we experiment on the physical level by sweating as an immediate gratification will keep us back on the track and on the mat .

3. SCULPT OUR BODY AVOIDING INJURY.

HOT YOGA empowers our motivation to practice helping us to get in a self confident and energetic mood . After a few months of practicing HOT YOGA regularly, good things start to occur. The first changes we notice are mostly on the physical level.

We feel more active, energized, and we may have loose some weight along the way. The pleasure of practicing HOT YOGA grows up as we see tangible changes in our body, toned abs and butt, flat stomach, stronger arms. HOT YOGA is a powerful tool to shape our body avoiding injury. Heat warms and relaxes the entire body, promoting suppleness, relaxation, and elongation of muscle tissue. We are less likely to be overstretched during practice.

4.- POWERFUL TOOL TO MANAGE STRESS.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good when it is not an obsession. As we start to get some results with our body, the practice becomes more pleasurable. We feel satisfied, self confident and valuable as we go deeper with our practice day after day. This satisfaction allows our mind to connect with our body, a new exciting adventure is coming up, our "emotional workout". We are ready to focus on our breath, we understand the importance of a deep breath to calm down and energize. We learn to manege our stress on the mat and off the mat when things dont work out the way we planned it. And it happens all the time because that's life. A successful person is not someone without stress, it is someone who master his/her stress, someone who dedicates each breath in his body to achieve it. As we learn how to use the breath to cope the stress, we open the door to success.

5.- REACHING OUR HIGHEST POTENTIAL.

We are on our way to be successful and we get all the ingredients, a confident and energize mood, an increasing motivation , satisfaction for the results in our body, we learn how to cope the stress using our breath and as we connect mind and body we learn to know each other a bit more practice after practice. We are no more in the "want to do" phase, we are doing and applying all this skills in our daily life. We begin to write or rewrite the script of our life, developing this gift, this talent that we have and "Yes" we all do have one . We are doing, knowing what we do and understanding why we do it. The pleasure, the immediate gratification we experiment at the beginning of our journey becomes something more, we start to feel happy, a durable and long lasting state of well being . Happiness obtained by doing, growing, feeling, listening, observing , cant be taken away from us.

YOGA itself is a source of happiness and joy and can be practiced in any safe environment. An enthusiastic practitioner will practice at any time, in any circumstances, in almost any environment. But lets be honest to ourselves, most of us are average practitioners. Sometimes we prefer to stay at home watching tv rather than practicing yoga .

HOT YOGA can really increase our motivation helping us to get in a self- confident and energetic mood. Motivation is the key and HOT YOGA is the terrain.
