You also have a new baby to care for. It will take all your energy to care for your child. So rather than focusing on losing weight right away, just focus on eating healthy foods that give you energy to take care of your new baby.
Breast feeding is a good way of burning your bodies calories. A woman that breastfeeds her new born child produces, on average, an output of 850ml of breast milk per day. To create such a large quantity of breast milk, it is necessary to consume approximately 500 extra calories per day.
Exercise when you are ready. Giving your body time to recover does not mean that you should by lazy. You can do light exercise almost immediately after getting home, if you find time to do so. Mainly, avoid vigorous or sustained exercise, at least until the doctor gives you permission to do so. There are a lot of

Start a serious weight reduction program after 2-3 Months. Typically, after 2 to 3 months, your strength will be close to normal, and your menstrual cycle will be back to normal. When this happens, and the doctor gives you permission, you can begin following a healthy, weight loss diet, and partaking in a more vigorous exercise program. Do not aim for fast weight loss. Try losing about 1 pound per week, to maintain optimum health. Get guidance from your doctor, while continuing to focus on eating nutritious foods. You will start to see increased energy and strength.
It does not take long to lose the pregnancy weight. Most medical professionals will give you a similar answer. They will tell you that the amount of time needed is dependent upon how much weight was gained during your pregnancy. However, on average, a gain of 25 to 30 pounds can be expected. After the birth, a women will normally lose 12 to 14 pounds. This leaves approximately 11 to 18 pounds of extra weight to be worked off. If you start after 2 months, a normal recovery period, and you lose 1 pound per week, it will take 18 to 27 weeks to lose the weight, meaning you should be at normal weight within six months after the birth.
Every woman wants to get back to their normal weight and shape, as soon as possible, after giving birth. However, trying to lose weight too fast can be harmful to you. Take it easy.
