Tips On Wedding Etiquette For Guests

Wedding is the top ceremony in our daily life

Wedding is the top ceremony in our daily life. It is sometimes difficult for people to gauge what is right or wrong when attending someone's wedding. This is because many wedding guests assume that etiquette should be left for the groom, bride and their family members. However, certain etiquette applies to guests too and they should be well aware of them before they leave their houses for the wedding venue.

If a wedding guest does something embarrassing to the bride, groom or their family, there may not be any major form of punishment but the embarrassment should be avoided at all costs especially during the most important day for the newlyweds. Wedding etiquette for guests is very simple and sometimes one does not even notice when adhering to it. The first rule is getting to the wedding on time. All wedding invitation cards indicate the time the wedding ceremony is scheduled to start and it is polite to ensure that as a guest, one is seated at least 15 minutes before the time. It is very rude to walk in just when the bride is being walked down the aisle.

Another simple wedding rule to adhere to is silence. The only noise to be heard should be as directed by the presiding official in order to treat the wedding ceremony with sanctity. This act of silence shows the deserved reverence and also creates a sense of order for the event itself. In addition, it is important to follow the leads of other guests or the officials if the ceremony requires guests to sit and stand during the ceremony.

Pictures should also not be taken when the ceremony is underway because there are professionals who have been paid to do that. Many vital decisions are based on the number of guests who will be attending a wedding and it is therefore very important and polite to confirm one's attendance as soon as they can to make work easier for planners. In addition, one should not bring any dates to a wedding unless the card specifically says that they can bring an extra person.

Another very important etiquette to follow is sending gifts to the newlyweds. The gifts can sometimes help the newlyweds start their married lives better but it is also a simple act of courtesy for the guest. If for instance one does not attend the wedding for any given reasons, it is important for them to send a gift because the bride and groom respected them enough to request their presence at their wedding. Finally, ensure that any alcohol consumption is done with moderation and does not embarrass the newlyweds. It is important to show the wedded couple that one is happy for them but they should not embarrass them while doing it.
