The "eat Clean" Challenge For Maximum Weight Loss

Knowing the "right" way to eat or the "best" foods to choose in order to lose excess weight and body fat can be pretty confusing

. Diet foods, sugar-free foods, low-calorie and low-fat foods line grocery store shelves, promising to help us in our weight loss efforts.

I believe that when we shift the focus from short-term weight loss results to long-term health and wellness, we achieve success on levels that blow diets out of the water! A healthy body weight, body fat percentage and lean muscle mass are all natural by-products of living a healthy lifestyle and consistently making healthy choices.

In the case of nutrition, it doesn't need to be as complicated as the diet industry and manufactured foods industry have made it.

One of the most successful approaches to a healthier way of eating is to eat "clean" as often as possible. In fact, if you're attempting to lose some excess weight or body fat, I challenge you to eat as clean as you can for as many days as possible for one week. Then, see what happens.

What does eating "clean" mean? For as many of your meals and snacks as possible, choose only real foods, in their closest-to-nature form, as pure and fresh as possible.

That means avoiding junk food, fast food, processed foods, conventional snack foods, and most packaged foods. If your meal comes out of a box and/or is cooked in a microwave, it's not on the eating clean list!

Yes, this will probably involve some time in the kitchen, prepping and cooking. At the very least, it will involve making some healthy choices in the grocery store rather than making choices in the drive-through lane or at the vending machine!

Also, try not to abuse that clean food once it's in your kitchen! Avoid all the toxic sweeteners, dressings, sauces, condiments, seasonings, and cooking oils that are so common. Stick to real accompaniments, like real grass-fed butter, coconut oil, raw honey, fresh pepper, fresh herbs and traditional sea salt, for example. Keep it real. Keep it simple.

As far as beverages go, stick to pure water, pure herbal teas, and some fresh vegetable juices or smoothies made at home. For your eating clean challenge, avoid coffee, alcohol, pop, conventional sports drinks, energy drinks and juice drinks that are usually loaded with toxic high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors and sweeteners

If you've not been eating this way, this might seem a bit overwhelming to you at first! We've grown accustomed to so much junk "filler" food that we sometimes forget what real, clean food even is!

Think of the way our ancestors would have eaten 200 years ago or so, before they were inundated with white flour, white sugar, artificial enhancers and preservatives, and toxic chemicals. They ate real food, in its natural form, as fresh and pure as possible.

If you can eat this way for a day, fantastic! Your body will greatly appreciate the break from toxicity for a day. But, if you can string together several days of eating clean, that's where you'll really start to notice some welcome changes!

Remember, when you're choosing from all real, whole foods that are as fresh and clean as possible, you've got little reason to concern yourself with calories and fat grams and all those other "diet mentality" concerns.

Real, clean food is premium fuel. Your body knows how to put it to use quickly and effectively, without all the usual left over toxic residue that lingers in our midsections, hips and thighs!

Do you need to eat like this ALL the time? You don't "need" to do anything! Obviously, the more you can stick to healthier choices like real, clean food, the better off you'll be in the long run. But, I understand that it's not always convenient, quick or 'easy' in every situation to eat like this. It is always healthier though! Choosing health first is the only way to create a lifetime of wellness... and a better body.

If you can eat clean for several days out of a week, your body will reward you by releasing some excess toxic fat for all that dedication you've shown! You'll be surprised how quickly the extra inches of fat will disappear!
