We spend many hours of every day in our bedrooms so don't we deserve to have a bit
of style in the bedroom? Gone are the days of chintz beds hastily covered by an ancient quilt. These days a bedroom can be elegant and reflect far more of your personality.
Wooden beds are conceptually simple, but often strikingly stylish. They come in many different designs, ranging from traditional rustic designs made of woods like oak, featuring straight, robust lines and strong frames to much more modern and contemporary beds in lighter woods that don't look as bulky as the traditional designs but still make a very strong bed. Wooden beds are often easier to assemble and move around and when they are in place they will give a room a much more light and airy feeling, and give more of an illusion of space and free flowing air.
Leather beds are often the opposite. They give much more of a feeling of a permanent and solid structure and make a bold statement that this bed is very much here to stay. Leather beds are generally quite simple in their build using straighter more boxy lines although as with anything there are of course some exceptions. This doesn't mean that a boxy bed doesn't look good though; the timeless elegance of leather and the simplistic lines make leather beds the centre point of any bedroom. The other advantage of leather as a bed-base is that it is often available in a number of different colours.
There are other advantages to both of these styles of beds. They are easy to clean and ideal if you have pets or children; stains, spilled drinks and sticky hand prints wipe off both with a damp cloth; which is far easier than traditional bed bases. They also take a wide variety of mattresses due to their simple design which doesn't force you to have a mattress specifically designed for the base.
