. For some women, these risks are of little concern, as they want to make sure that they get the change they have been searching for. Others tend to take their time weighing out the risks and the benefits before rushing into any decision. Either way, there is no way around the chance that some type of unfavorable outcome will occur. Scarring
One of the most common concerns about a breast reduction is the scarring. Depending on the method used, there is a chance that a patient could see noticeable scarring in a few different areas. While there are other techniques to consider, there are going to be some marks left on the body that will be a result of the procedure. Much like any other type of physician, the plastic surgeon's goal is to make those scars and small and unnoticeable as possible. In some cases, they can be hidden so that they do not detract from a woman's appearance.
Symmetry
The goal after a breast reduction is symmetry. A woman wants to look the same on both sides. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Infection
As with any incisions, there is a risk of infection. Patients can decrease this risk by following all directions provided by the surgeon following the breast reduction. Antibiotics are often taken before and after the surgery to decrease the chances and the incisions need to be well taken care of until they are completely healed. This means keeping the area dry and changing bandages according to the schedule provided by the doctor.
