Process of preparing toughened glass
Heat treatment process is practiced while preparing toughened glass. In this process, the liquid glass is annealed between transition temperature and softening point. After it, the liquid glass undergoes through a process of instant cooling using air jets. As a result of this process the surface of liquid glass freezes but interior remains still in the molten stage. After it, temperature differential method is applied across the thickness of glass pulp. As result, molten core of the pulp contracts at a faster rate compared to surface. The whole process adds to strength, stress bearing capacity and performance of glass.
