The Buzz Words For Skin Care
Skin care doesn't have to be expensive
Skin care doesn't have to be expensive. In fact, it shouldn't be. There are natural ways to get great skin that is wrinkle free, blemish free, soft and supple. The trick is, knowing what to look for in your skin care products.
The basics of skin care start with cleaning and moisturizing. However, not all cleansers and moisturizers are created equal. In fact, some will do more harm to your face than good. Rather than falling victim to the marketing tactics of beauty products, simply turn the jar around to read the label and discover for yourself what ingredients are actually in there.
Reading the labels can be a bit tricky, because quite often they list the scientific names. This often leads consumers to believe that every item they are unfamiliar with is a dangerous chemical. Not so. In fact, many of the ingredients are actually derived from natural sources, such as fruits, vegetables and herbs.
If you see items such as Cegasoft PFO or Cetiol listed on the label, don't panic. These are actually emollients extracted from plants and vegetables which offer natural moisturizing properties and contribute to supple skin. Glycerin is a gentle cleansing agent, while sorbital helps penetrate the epidermis to provide hydration deep below the surface of your skin.
Allantoin is a natural product of things like wheat and beets. It stimulates collagen production, while soothing and calming inflamed or irritated skin. If you find you have a lot of redness in your skin, this is an ingredient you should be looking for in a moisturizer or cleanser.
Coconut oil is usually listed as cocos nucifera. This is a fabulous supplement because it contains the healing power of lauric acid. Other essential oils, such as macadamia oil, offer deep nourishment and hydration to prevent the look of aging and protect your skin from damage.
You don't have to be afraid of the items you see on the labels. If there is a certain ingredient you want in your skin care product, just do a quick google search for the scientific name. Educating yourself to translate the skin care buzz words into ingredients listings, means you won't have to rely on a company's marketing tactics to find the right skin care product.
