The Anti Yeast Diet - What To Eat and What To Avoid!

Most women experience vaginal yeast infections a few times in their life

. It is an infection that is bothersome since the body parts mostly affected are the sensitive regions of the body such as the vagina and our digestive tract which even includes our anus. An anti-yeast diet will help in the regulation and killing of overgrowing microorganism such as Candida, and other species of yeast found normally in the body. Many of us, especially women crave for sweets and all sorts of sugary-foods. That may be the reason why women are more often infected. Even though consuming sugar is tempting in order to recover from a yeast infection, the cutting of sugar must be practiced. Sugar is the main food for the yeast and the more sugar concentrated in the blood, the quicker yeast will grow.According to medical experts, diabetic patients are usually troubled with itchiness, slow wound healing, and vaginal irritation. In the same manner, even if we are not diabetic, the intake of foods high in simple sugars and processed foods can contribute in our symptoms becoming worse.Cutting our carbohydrate intake to starve the yeast and reduce their number is important. It doesn't necessarily mean that you should completely eliminate sugar in the diet as small amounts are still needed for our body to function properly. We all know that yogurt is rich in probiotic bacteria also known as lactobacillus. This type of good bacteria helps eliminate yeast infections by competing and fighting with the harmful microorganisms in our bloodstream. It also helps regulate proper pH levels in our body which is crucial as it aids in regulating our digestive system.Certain vegetables and fruits have properties that can eliminate the formation of yeast and help boost the immune system. Veggies that are advisable to eat are cabbages, cucumber, spinach, garlic, and broccoli. For example garlic has been proven to have anti-fungal properties that helps in inhibiting the growth of yeast. The most important thing to know is what foods should be avoided aside from the sugar. Foods that contain yeast or need yeast in order to process the food should be avoided. Examples of these are mushrooms, beer, regular bread, cheese and vinegar. Caffeine should also be avoided whenever possible.Following a yeast free diet can be difficult especially at first. However if you stick with it you will be rewarded with a much healthier and energetic life!
