Taking Care Of Your Kids Beloved Toys
Toys are valuable to your kids
Toys are valuable to your kids. In fact, his toy collection may be his most valued possession at this time. For this reason, it is important to ensure that you take proper care of these things. Aside from this, you spent money and effort looking for the most durable and educational toys in the market so you would want these toys to last a long time. Fortunately, taking care of your kids toys is not that difficult. You just have to know that every kind of toy requires a different kind of caring procedure. Below you will find some basic care tips for stuffed toys, wooden toys, and puppet theaters.
Stuffed Animals
Stuffed animal toys are very popular among kids. Your kid probably owns some small and large stuffed animals. Most likely, you are aware that these kinds of toys are prone to dust accumulation of the material they are made of. To take care of them, first you have to determine if the stuffed toy is washable or not. This is usually indicated in the label attached to the toy or in the toys packaging. If it is washable, you can clean it using the washing machine. Doing this once a month would be enough to keep it clean. If the toy is not washable, you can bring it to a dry cleaner. Moreover, you can reduce dust accumulation by using a mildly damp cloth or a baby wipe to remove dust and debris every day. See to it that you take care of spills and stains to prevent deep absorption into the fabric. Take care of rips and tears right away before they get worse.
Wooden Toys
Wooden toys are very sturdy and durable but still, they require utmost care and maintenance. Your kids wooden toys should be cleaned using mild cleaners that do not contain strong chemicals. Harsh chemicals such as bleach and detergents may dry and whiten the surface of the toy. Wash the toys at least once a month. For every day cleaning, wipe the surface with damp cloth and dry it immediately afterwards. Since wooden toys may be damaged by extreme changes in temperature, do not expose them under the sun for too long or store them near heat sources.
Puppet Theater
To maintain your kids puppet theater, one thing you should do is to wipe it regularly using a damp cloth. Afterwards, wipe it with a dry cloth. If your kid is not going to use the puppet theater for a long time, secure it inside a box and store in a location free from insects and far away from heat sources. Moreover, wash the puppets regularly to prevent accumulation of dust and dirt.
Although it is your responsibility to ensure proper care of your kids toys, this endeavor is not yours alone. Your kid should also be part of this, after all these are his toys. You should be able to inculcate in your child the value of caring for things, not only for toys but also for whatever possession he has. You should be able to teach him how to put away his toys and how to keep them clean. Moreover, never allow your little one to bang, rip apart, or jump on his toys. This way, he would grow up responsible and reliable when it comes to the things he owns.
